It’s Release Day! (It was. I forgot to pull this out of drafts.)
Just to be clear, this is a re-release of an old book, Close Contact.
Wolf’s Witch
Paranormal Protectorate 3
Could this day get any worse? Some angry witch put a spell on her and now a werewolf is claiming she’s his mate. Geneva Black doesn’t need more complications. Okay, so the man is sexy and those kisses leave her wanting more.
The danger surrounding his mate raises his hackles, but Evan Connors would never walk away from his mate. The spell on her keeps them in close proximity and ensures she stays within reach. He craves her sweet body, but protecting his mate comes first.
The witch doesn’t stop when her first spell is thwarted. If Evan and Geneva hope to claim a life together, they’ll have to discover who the witch is and stop her or lose everything.
Warning: This novel was previously published under the name Close Contact. It has been heavily revised and rewritten. This book contains sexy times between a werewolf and his latent witch as well as some violence, but you can count on a happy ever after.

“I don’t even know you. Why would someone put a spell on me to keep me within a certain distance of you? You’re lying.” She narrowed her eyes.
He had to be lying. That explanation made absolutely no sense. On top of that, he was smiling. There was nothing to smile about in this situation. She looked to Sonya.
“He’s not lying, Geneva.” Sonya exhaled. “It’s not him specifically the witch had in mind.”
“If it’s not him she had in mind, then what in the hell is he talking about?” Geneva rolled her shoulders. If they’d explain fully, this wouldn’t be so bad. She took in a slow breath and held it. Her pulse raced. The spell would be hard enough to deal with and she didn’t need more trouble or complications. A wolf claiming he was her mate was a complication of epic proportions.
“The witch didn’t just choose a name out of thin air and decide that if you weren’t close to that person you’d be in pain. The spell was set so that when it activated, you’d be in extreme pain if you weren’t near the man meant to be your mate. The witch wasn’t counting on you being near the man at almost the moment it activated.” Evan tightened his fingers on hers.
Maybe he meant to reassure her, but it didn’t work. Humans didn’t have mates. She shook her head. The mate issue would have to wait. She’d argue about it later. First, they had to learn a little more about the spell and then she’d get to him and his claim. If he thought she was his mate, he’d want to take care of her.
She’d deal with the mating issue once the witch told her what they had to do. “Why are we lucky that it happened now?”
“Well, aside from the fact that you’re not in constant pain because I’m near you, the spell hasn’t reached full strength yet. Spells can become more difficult to stop the longer they’re in effect.” Evan released her hands and straightened.
“It’s sort of like stopping a bowling ball at the top of a hill rather than at the bottom. It will just be easier on you and the witches working to remove it if it happens before the spell does reach full strength.” Sonya smiled and waved her hand.
“Can you tell who did this to her?” Steven asked.
“The power and style seem local, but I can’t tell you who. If we take the spell off her now, we’ll destroy any chance of tracing this back to the one responsible.” Sonya glanced over at Steven.
“How long until the spell hits full strength?” Steven frowned.
Geneva took a deep breath. Her heart raced in her chest and panic threatened to overtake her. He was weighing the pain she could suffer against the need to catch the person who’d cast the spell.
She stiffened. The person had to be stopped, but that pain… Her stomach clenched and her throat tightened. She might not be able to take it again. Panic rose within her.
“We have maybe ten days, but no more.” Sonya tilted her head, once again studying the mist.
“So the spell has to be off her by Halloween night.” Steven tapped his hand against his thigh.
“I can’t take the pain for that long.” Geneva shook her head. As much as they needed to catch the person who’d put the spell on her, she couldn’t deal with the pain. She’d go insane within a day.
“You won’t be in pain. You’ll be with me.” Evan squeezed her fingers wrist gently.
Geneva sighed. He might want to offer comfort, maybe let her know she wasn’t alone. All it did was infuriate her. He refused to listen to anything. Being with him at all times was impossible. Not just because his arrogance might rival Everest in height and if she had to deal with it much more, she would lose her temper.
