So, this weekend has been very busy. I’ve done some work and some research. I’m currently looking at articles and books for a re-revision. That might not technically be a word, but I’m using it. I revised the book once and learned that it need more, thus re-revision. In the meantime, my current WIP and revisions are benefitting from the knowledge. Some of it is stuff I already
In the meantime, my current WIP and revisions are benefitting from the knowledge. Some of it is stuff I already knew, but had lost due to pushing to write fast.
I like the way it makes the writing flow. On the other hand, it will take a little while to get used to it.
The change in the way I write has slowed me down some. If it helps make my writing better, I don’t mind the slower pace. It will take a little while for it to feel natural.
I’ve been thinking lately. About new works and old ones. There’s a particular dream that I wrote down snippets of which has been haunting me. I keep thinking about it and the characters in it.
Here’s a taste of the images that keep floating back into my mind.
Charlotte wrapped her fingers around her niece’s wrist, tugging her back as she stepped forward. The blond man jumped forward. Clawed fingers swiped toward Charlotte’s neck. She flinched. His hand stopped a handsbreadth away from her neck as if it had connected with a granite wall.
She gripped his shirt and lifted him off his feet. He gasped and his fingers scrabbled to grip her wrist. After a lack of success, he swung at her. His hand slammed to a halt before he could connect with her She shook her head. Would he ever learn?
“You broke your word to my family. You’ve put everyone else before her and put her in danger when you promised that wouldn’t happen.” Charlotte tossed the young idiot.
He rolled to a stop at the feet of a group of five ladies. The stepped back as if afraid he’d get something on the dresses they wore.
“I didn’t.” The idiot rose to his feet and stumbled sideways before he braced his feet wide on the polished wooden floor. “You will give her back or I’ll tear you apart.”
“Don’t you realize yet? You aren’t the top of the food chain. Not even near it.”
Happy Reading!
