This is what my current revision looks like. Pretty, huh? It’s one of the last stages of my current process. I’m excited about that, but there’s still some work to do. The highlights are either words I watch for or words I consistently overuse. All that’s left after this is a read-through and the synopsis. Yeah!
I’m keeping my spirits up about the synopsis. Sometimes, I’m not very fond of that portion of the writing process. You wouldn’t think that coming up with a summary of what happens in a book you have plotted out and written would be hard, but sometimes, it’s torture. After it’s completed, I’m done! It will feel so good to finally be finished with this.
I’ve planned what will be in line for the next revision and am eager to get started on it. Hopefully, it won’t get stuck like this one did.
In sort of a premature celebration, I thought I’d share an excerpt of one of my current WIP.

This is from Stone Passions 2.
Set up: She’s taken Cael back to her bakery after a date.
He rose and strolled over to join her to pick the flavor from the carousel of containers. She turned to him and plucked one of the containers off the rack. He glanced at the array of flavors and picked one of the bold pods from the rack.
She started the first and turned to him. Her hands clenched at her side. She stared at him.
“I don’t know why I’m brewing the coffee.”
“Because you wanted to drink it.” He grinned.
“No, I didn’t invite you here for coffee. If I didn’t have half a suspicion that my cousin would show up, I would have told you to take me home so I could invite you in there.” She shook her head. “I don’t even want any coffee.”
“Then what do you want?” Cael tipped his head to the side. He waited, not wanting to rush to conclusions although he thought he knew what she’d say.
“You. Sitting across the table from you was hell. I wanted to go around the table and slide right into your lap. Damn, if there hadn’t been so many people around, I don’t know if I would stop at sitting with you.” She reached over and brushed her fingers over his shoulder.
“Are you sure? This won’t change anything irrevocably and I won’t bite you, but it’s not going to make things easier either.” He stepped closer and slipped an arm around her, even though he wanted to make sure that she had all the facts.
“I don’t think there’s going to be much easy between us, Cael. Three men, gargoyles, and everything else I’m learning. It’s enough to make my head spin. The strength of the desire for you isn’t something I’m going to ignore.” She took the final step forward and wrapped her arms around him.
“Well, if you’re sure, I held onto my self-control by a thread.” He slipped a hand under her buttocks and lifted her. He glanced at her desk. “Do you mind if we use that?”
“I’d be disappointed if you didn’t.” She threaded her fingers through his hair and drew him close.
Hope you enjoyed and Happy Reading!
