Today, I’m sharing a little about my companions, my feline writing companions.
Below is a picture of my cat Sirocco. She’s almost always near me. Cuddle cat extraordinaire.
Today she’s claiming the writing table I use for my laptop. Off to the side is my laptop and under that are my notebooks and a legal pad that I’m using to make notes on my revisions. She and my other cat Boo have been helping me with those. On Saturday, I was using a tablet for a read through–or trying to use it for that. They both decided that since I didn’t have the table or my laptop on me that I definitely needed them. Much cuddles were had, but the read-through and note taking didn’t get very far.
Here is the Boo. (It surprised me that I actually managed to snap a good picture of him. He’s the king of blurry or black indistinguishable, blob pictures.) He’s also called Sable-for the brown in his fur when the light hits it right, but he has a penchant for stalking out of the darkness and suddenly appearing in sight. Thus the name Boo. He can look really innocent after giving me a scare. (This is last spring before we planted strawberries in this wagon. It now has a squirrel protection screen box thing on top of it that he uses as a sun soaking spot. Needless to say with the squirrels and the cat shaped shadow, the strawberries didn’t do well last year.)
Writing update
I’m nearing the end of Stone and Fire, the paranormal gargoyle story. It’s exciting to be so close to those fabulous words. The End. The next story up after that, I’m still working out the conflict and plot. I’ll pick up one of the other stories that are active WIP, Guardian’s Embrace and the next Bliss story.
The revisions- I started the way I normally do, but I’ve been working my way through some craft books as well. So I switched it up in the middle of the revisions. (Normally, revisions are not my favorite part of writing.) I’m trying to adjust my attitude toward them and changing my tactics. With the switch it’s going a little easier. I won’t know if it makes it consistently easier until I start going through revisions for the next books.
Hope you’re having a great day!
Happy Reading!
