What’s your name?
a:

My name is Chloe Thomas

Why are you in Casworth?
A: Basically, I’m here because Leslie, Shonna, and Dixie are here. I work from home, freelance design for the most part, so I can live anywhere. I wanted to live near my friends.
Did you ever have a dream career? Or maybe something you wanted to do before you died?
A: Being part of a band was my dream career. It was great. Things I want to do before I die. Well, I did a few of those while I was with the band. I sky dived, kayaked, spent a night in a haunted house. There are a few places I’d like to see before I die, like the Taj Mahal and the Great Pyramid.
What do you do? Is it what you always wanted to do?
A: I do graphic design. No, it’s not what I always wanted to do. As I said, my dream career was to be part of a band. I did that. I was with Stray Storm for a few years.
Why did you leave Stray Storm?
A: It wasn’t a sudden a decision to leave. I lost my passion for it. You know how some people say their job is a bore. Well, that’s how it became to me in a way. There came a time when I didn’t enjoy playing my guitar every night. I didn’t like getting on stage anymore. Part of that was because I couldn’t get over the nervousness, wondering if a fight was going to break out in one of the bars again. It had happened a few times before and the last time I got hurt. I couldn’t go on like that. I wasn’t doing the band any favors or myself. So I began looking into what I wanted to do next.
Who are your best friends? Why? Is there anything that drew you to them? How did you meet them?

A: Woah, that’s a lot of questions there. My best friends are Dixie, Shonna, and Leslie. You’ll meet them all in the story. They were funny and fun to be around. They had each other’s backs no matter what. I liked that. I met them during one of my last shows with Stray Storm.
Why were you so reticent about being a mate to shifters? You obviously have nothing against shifters?
A: No, it was never about shapeshifters in general. It was mainly the strangeness and mandatory part of it. I like having a choice and once you’re identified as a shapeshifter’s mate, there is no choice about it. Sometimes, there are dates and a get to know each other period, but the end is the same. The strange part of it, well, in Whyr society, ménage relationships are considered normal. I’d never even seen a group marriage until I moved here, much less thought about it.
Do you have any family in the area?  Are you close to them? Why? Where is your family?
A: No, I don’t have any family in the area. No, I’m not close to them. My father’s family lives in Illinois. I don’t know them. I haven’t seen any of them since I was put into the foster system when my parents died.
Why did you think of Tony, Logan, and Jason when first met them?
A: When I met them all together, um, overwhelming. Everything seemed to be rushing at me so fast, changing quickly and I didn’t like the out of control feeling.  Individually, well, I met Logan when he was drugged. Man, is he cuddly when he’s like that. He didn’t want to let me go. Jason, well, I didn’t even know it was him until later. All I knew was that there was a bear in the park and he wouldn’t freaking move. I thought he was just being a jerk. Turns out he couldn’t force himself to walk away and change into a human so we could talk. But he kind of scared me so I maced him and ran. Tony, when I first met him, I thought he was nice, gorgeous, and I wouldn’t mind getting to know him a lot better. Then trouble found me in the form of two women and while he was facing it down and warning them away, I discover he thinks I’m his mate. It was a bit much after everything that has been happening lately.
What is everything?
A: Well, the man breaking into my house. Turns out he’s a fox and now his family is after me because I ruined his life. And that’s just the start of the story.
You’ll learn more about Chloe’s men in the following days, but if you’re really curious about the story, you’ll have to read the book.  http://www.bookstrand.com/book/latent-desires
