My muses, subconscious, whatever you want to call the creative part that forms the characters and situations in my stories, is on overdrive this weekend. Now, I’m not griping about that. I love it when my muses are cooperative. What I’d love is if they’d decide to work on what I’m working on not give me new stuff when I already have more than enough stories in the works.
I’ve been cleaning Desperate Measures so that I can finally submit it and that’s going slower than it should. I’ve also been working hard on my Santir Ancient’s WIP although that story is going to be long. I’ve added about 4000 words in the last week, and managed to get a little work on a couple of others.
Now, I mentioned my muses above for a reason. I’ve been working on two WIP set in the world of my Protectorate books, but these two are barely related to the others. I admit that has been concerning me, but the stories were too good to put aside because of that. Now, I don’t know how I’ll present them in relation to the Protective Affairs series, but I’ll deal with that later. I knew there were stories still to tell in the PA series that were related, but there was something missing, some connection to the next step that I hadn’t found. Well, my muses handed me the hero, the heroine, a hell of a conflict between them, and a fairly good idea of how to move the series ahead. Problem is: I can’t work on it right now even though I want to dig right into it.
I’ll just have to use it as incentive to get to work and finish something.
