This guys character has been giving me just a little bit of trouble and I decided to try interview him. I’d like you to meet Marcus Castillo, the hero from Vampire’s Witch.

First, Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Marcus Castillo. As you know, I’m a vampire. I head the Security team for a firm here in Dallas, but technically I work the Vampire Council.

So what do you do for the Council?

I hunt rogues…and deal with the younger vampires. They can sometimes forget that the world doesn’t know about us in the joy of the moment.

Younger vampires, do you mean converted humans or child vampires?

(His mouth pulled down into a distinct frown and he leaned forward.)Lady, whatever you think, we’re not dead or undead or whatever you want to call it. Of course, we have children. because of our longevity our females aren’t fertile as often as human females.

(Just to let you know, when he says lady, it’s not a compliment or even a polite address. That growling tone leaves no doubt.) I didn’t mean any offense. I just haven’t met any of them yet. I was just curious. Uhm… Now that you’ve met Serena what do you think of her?

He smiled slowly and sat back in his chair. A very interesting witch.

You find her more than interesting, but what caught your interest first?

Well, aside from the fact that she seems to be hiding something, and I will find out what that is, she’s just too neat, every hair in place.

What’s wrong with the fact that her hair is neat and her clothes look pressed and clean?

She’s too controlled and I never said I didn’t like it, just that it interested me. Seeing her all dressed up with her suit neat and tidy, make-up perfect, just makes me want to see what it takes to muss her up.

Okay, now you have to hunt a rogue in this book. Why is that?

He’s insane.

I’m sure he must be to go up against you, your team of vampires and the Protectorate. But do you have any idea why he’s doing this?

Like I said, he’s insane. He knows some magic and thinks no one has the right to tell him what to do.

Hard question time. Serena’s going to be hunting that vampire with you and your job is to get that vampire no matter what it takes. What would you do if it came down to a choice between catching your rogue or saving Serena?

He bares his fangs and puts his hand on the desk as he leans forward. It’s not going to come down to that. She’s not going to get hurt. Do you understand?

Writing the story is my job, stick to your rogues or I might consider renaming you. How do you like Marion?

(Marcus growls.)

Thank you so much for stopping by, Marcus. I’ll get back to you if I have any more questions.
